Disneyland Resort has filed a permit that reveals a major transformation for the long-abandoned The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror FastPass distribution area in Disney California Adventure. The structure, once a hub for FastPass distribution, is now set to become an outdoor dining area, offering a new experience for guests.
In January, construction walls went up around the structure, and the permit details the changes: DCA – Avenger’s Campus/BLDG #749 – Change of Use: Convert existing detached fast-pass ticket shade structure into outdoor eating area with new joists. With electrical. This move will remove the outdated Tower of Terror theming and add essential infrastructure for guests dining at the nearby Pym’s Test Kitchen restaurant.
Despite FastPass being replaced by Lightning Lane years ago and the Tower of Terror being transformed into Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! in 2017, this structure remained largely unchanged. The FastPass kiosks and signage were removed, but the Art Deco theming of Tower of Terror still adorned the structure. Now, it will be reimagined as an outdoor dining area, providing a fresh and functional experience for visitors.
